BIO
Neapolitan is a “rock” band based in Austin, Texas. Headed by frontman Chris Schreck (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, and Percussion), the band takes its influences from a wide range of artists. Chris takes a great deal of influence from post-hardcore/punk heavy hitters such as Thrice, Underoath, Every Time I Die, and Refused. Chris and Nick Rash (Lead Guitar) connected on more of the well-known rock groups from the late 90’s and 2000’s such as Incubus or the Foo Fighters. Nick’s influences consisted of The 1975, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan. The pair met at a School of Rock in Round Rock, Texas where they both were teaching. After hours, the two would jam and Chris began sharing a few songs he had written. They decided to record some demos and soon would form a band with Nick’s High School friends Matthew Rodriguez (Bass Guitar), and Novian Johnson (Drums). A general vision of the group was to make music that most people can enjoy but not to be pinned down by genre. This idea is what inspired the name. Though the initial sounds of the band started as very post-hardcore punk type sound, the plan was always to evolve and push the limits. Chris specifically stated “I want “The 1975” crowd to show up and be in the same building with the hardcore metalheads. It will be beautiful.”
In August 2019 the band released their first single titled Overdose.
